  • One year contract with the potential to become full-time
  • Main duties include maintaining and updating employee information (records of employee attendance, overtime, benefit entitlements), preparing and verifying statements of earnings for employees, preparing and processing all employee payroll related payments (regular pay, benefit payments, bonuses, vacation pay), verifying and processing forms and documentation for administration of benefits (pension plans, leaves, share savings, health insurance), preparing payroll related filings and supporting documentation (year-end tax statements, pensions, records of employment), providing information on payroll matters such as benefit plans and collective agreement provisions, monitoring statistical reports and statements related to pay and benefits accounts, preparing and balancing period-end reports and reconciling issued payrolls to bank statements, identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies, keeping financial records, balancing various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, posting journal entries and reconciling accounts, preparing trial balance of books, maintaining general ledgers, completing and submitting forms (tax remittance, workers' compensation, pension contribution), and preparing other financial and accounting reports
  • Completion  f college courses in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll administration required
  • Prior experience in payroll administration expected
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification preferred
  • Must be well versed in Sage 300 and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables)
