The WorkPlace Group on behalf of The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton is recruiting for a Finance Administrator – Full Time Contract Position (Parental Leave)

Tentative Start Date: May 28th, 2018

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Process Payroll
  • Prepare for monthly financial statements/reconciliations and annual audit
  • Administer group insurance and RRSP
  • Process current campaign in Donation Tracker/Process and track campaign receipts
  • Balance Donation Tracker daily/monthly/yearly
  • Proficient in Quickbooks for daily/monthly/yearly activities
  • Monitor and track investments
  • Maintaining reports and processing investments/banking
  • Apply for HST refund/Process reports for Audit
  • Complete Charity Report (T-3010) and all other Government Reports
  • Assist with Bingo licenses and reports/Assist with Raffle licenses and reports
  • Track staff sick time

The Finance Administrator acts as a consultant to the software vendor, Donation Tracker ensuring the reports needed by United Way of Sarnia-Lambton, and most likely other Canadian United Ways, are developed plus ensuring that our unique needs are met. This enables United Way of Sarnia-Lambton to always have the latest software available and the most trained and well versed staff.

Reporting and Training

  • Update contacts and information in Donation Tracker
  • Promote the use of Customer Relations/Email staff weekly updates and alerts in Donation Tracker
  • Stay actively involved with Donation Tracker
  • Prepare year to date actuals vs budget/cash flow projections
  • Prepare monthly and year to date pledges vs previous years
  • Provide campaign totals every Tuesday during campaign with previous year’s total

Community Investment

  • Monthly allocation payments
  • Non-member agency designation payments
  • Venture Grant payments

Qualifications

  • Accounting diploma in a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Experience in bookkeeping and accounting
  • Proficient in Quickbooks accounting software
  • Proficient in all appropriate Microsoft office software applications
  • Experience in Donation Tracker database software an asset
  • Bondable/Valid driver’s license/Satisfactory police check also required
